Single Review: Alan Jacob – Snow Globe

This makes me feel like Christmas has arrived! Snow Globe is a blissful piece inspiring a sense of winter warmth. Multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist, Alan Jacob aka meatbehindabeat offers a sweet, electro-retro vibe featuring Alan’s own brand of creative songwriting.

The track explores Alan’s quest for real love in today’s appearance and material gain obsessed world. That a relationship can appear beautiful and perfect in social media posts, but it’s what happens in reality that means real love.

Pleasant guitar chords with fresh changes make this a nostalgic winter song. Gentle Take That!-esque vocals and harmonies spin the listener off into a dreamland of a snow globe. This is a perfect Christmas song of melodious delight.

The smart use of metaphor “glassy touch” and “Shaken by you, I’m under your spell,” demonstrates Alan’s poetic, silken songwriting skills. The gift of the snowglobe is woven through the lyrics symbolising the beauty of a fantasy relationship.

I immediately felt the love of percussion in the introduction and Alan’s flair for perfection is apparent throughout. Sprinkle in the charming chimes and easy-on the-ear simplicity, this electronic piece would sit well on any Christmas compilation.

Alan Jacob is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and writer whose sound echoes classic Bowie, Queen and ELO on one side, running through a filter that combines Take That and The Killers. His work centres around his ongoing struggle fitting in with life and relationships as a neuro-diverse human.

‘Snow Globe is out now on all good streaming and download services!

Accompanying the tracks is a Christmas EP ‘Baubles’ that has four reimaginings of festive classics.

Thank you to Andrea from Urban Viking Media for the brilliant review.. and Merry Christmas everyone
