GERRY Cinnamon is to play a huge headline set in Warrington when Neighbourhood Weekender becomes a three-day event in 2021.
The Victoria Park indie rock festival had to be cancelled this year due to the pandemic but organisers, SJM Concerts, are ensuring it comes back stronger in May.
Gerry, already a huge name north of the border, exploded in the public consciousness with the release of 2017 gold certified self-released debut album, Erratic Cinematic and single ‘Sometimes’ – a firm favourite on the live circuit – will close a new Friday night main stage show on May 28.
|Friday night tickets will go on general sale Friday 11th |
September at 9:30am HERE.
Those with weekend tickets will be sent a pre-sale link that
will be available from 9am tomorrow, Tuesday.
It will be the first time that the festival has run across three days since it was launched in 2018 by former Woolston High student and SJM boss Simon Moran.
|As the biggest indie festival in the North West; Neighbourhood Weekender will kick off 2021’s festival season by bringing together an incredible bank holiday weekend of live music across three stages.|
A new three-day weekend ticket will be introduced as well as a Friday day ticket.
And anyone who currently has a two-day weekend pass will have first refusal on an upgrade for it to include the Friday show for a reduced price of £25 (plus booking fee) as a thank you for keeping hold of their tickets.
A spokesman for Neighbourhood Weekender said: “Gerry Cinnamon has become a sold-out stadium and arena-filling headliner all the while achieving it entirely independently.
“An already legendary live performer, his inimitable shows are infamous for their wild atmosphere and joyous mass fan singalongs.
Circa Waves from Liverpool were a late addition to last year’s festival after Slaves had to pull out due to personal reasons released their third top 10 album, Sad Happy, in March, which marked their highest charting release to date, debuting at number four.
The Zutons, who performed at the Viola Beach tribute celebration, returned to the live scene in 2019 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their double platinum debut album, Who Killed The Zutons.
Meanwhile, London-based singer-songwriter Jade Bird broke into the UK top 10 with her self-titled debut album last year which saw her perform across the US with the likes of Hozier and The Lumineers.
Singer-songwriter Orla Gartland completes the new Friday line-up. The artist has opened stages for acts such as Sigrid, Kodaline and James Vincent McMorrow.
