Filthy Tricks feature on Wolves Season launch video

Ahead of Super League XXV kicking off, Warrington Wolves  launched their season with a fantastically shot video featuring one of Warrington’s finest bands, Filthy Tricks.

The recording of ‘Walk In Line’ saw the band return to Manchester’s Red City Studios where they worked with producer Dave Radahd-Jones. A rather spontaneous recording choice, the track itself had only been written about 10 days before they headed to the studio to record other music in December 2019. The track’s got a real force behind it, with commanding lyrics and bold melodies forming the basis of the song. ‘Walk In Line’ truly sums up the fiery, potent nature of Filthy Tricks and the short promo has a stomping beat, perfect to get you in the mood for a hit up or two on the rugby pitch.

Having performed on the pitch in 2019, the Rugby League club were keen to work with the band again and after initially wanting to use the single ‘Black Diamond Eyes’, found a bands newest song would  work perfectly. Guitarist and vocalist Gerard Van Den Hoek wrote the song, and comments “It’s quite funny as when I was writing ‘Walk In Line’ I pictured the song itself being used on Sky Sports for a sporting event as the lyrics I wrote kind of reflect a battle and never giving up so I think the stars aligned and it was meant to be used for our home town rugby club and I am extremely proud of it!”

With the video racking up over 24,000 views on Facebook and gaining Filthy Tricks huge numbers of new fans in just a few days, the band decided to release the full track onto the world on all good online stores and Spotify.
