Dawsons Music announced ambitious future plans after closure of historic store

The Warrington-based company sets sights on becoming the ‘go-to’ resource for artists and musicians both on the High Street and online.

Following the unfortunate closure of their Warrington HQ in March, a branch where they had been present for over 100 years (since 1914 and in the town since 1898). Dawsons Music, a leading retailer of musical instruments and professional audio equipment are pleased to announce the next phase in the company’s story.

From humble beginnings as a local music shop to boasting an enviable position in today’s competitive online marketplace, the Warrington-based business has undergone a series of changes as part of a rebranding that consisted of: a move to a new Centre Park HQ, a reinvigorated focus, and a slogan that illustrates their expertise, ‘Run by Musicians, For Musicians’. In keeping with its service to musicians for over 120 years, the rebrand reflects both the evolution of the company with ‘over a century of noise’ to its credit, as well as its confident vision for the future.

Established as a piano shop by John Dawson in 1898, Dawsons Music started out life selling classical instruments to local pianists. Over the decades they embraced emerging trends and have gone on to offer a wide variety of musical instruments and equipment from pocket-sized modular synths to digital grand pianos, ukuleles to 9-string electric guitars.

By engaging with communities and organisations at a grassroots level, Dawsons Music wants to become a creative hub for up-and-coming local artists who identify with the Dawsons’ family as a partner along their creative journey.
