Bands and performers are coming together for a fantastic charity music night “For One Mike Only” remembering a local musician.
For One Mike Only is returning for its third year and is being held on Friday, 4th May at the Auction rooms, Legh Street, Warrington.
This year will see 10 more fabulous performances with 5 bands and 5 acoustic sets, over 2 floors. Acts include Kerry Sheree, Kaleiders, Kye Jones, Filthy Tricks, The God Complex, Jason Allen, Dan Zeshan, Greg Dixon, Sam Jones and Blue Shift.
As well as raising vital funds and awareness for local charities the night is a celebration of the life of Mike Carter who died aged just 19. The concert has been organised by Mike’s mother Samantha Heathcote. Mike was a very well loved lad and over 300 people attended his funeral.
The first One Mike Only Event, saw Inspiral Carpets and XS Manchester DJ Clint Boon headline, after Viola Beach were due to play.
Samantha said: “Mike passed away suddenly aged 19. He was a keen musician and passionate about music. He loved to help other people and was always there day and night for anyone that needed him.
“He had recently been diagnosed with ASD. In his memory, this gig will raise money for the Warrington branch of the national autistic society. The monies raised will help children and their families in the local area. This is what Mike would’ve wanted.”
The night will raise as much money as possible for the local branch of the National Autistic Society and also Child Bereavement UK, both of which do remarkable work to support families. Lets make this our biggest year so far.
