Boy band Five to headline the first WA2 Live festival in Orford

BOY band 5ive and a former winner of The Voice will be performing at the Tetley Walker Club to launch a new festival in Orford this summer.

The Keep On Movin’ singers will be joined by Kevin Simm, who won talent show The Voice in 2016, to headline the all-day event at the Long Lane sports and social club on Saturday, June 9.

The 1,200-capacity festival will be called WA2 Live and organisers say it ‘is already creating a buzz around Orford’.

Also on the line-up are tribute group Spice Girlz, stage actor-turned-singer Katy Barsby, rock band The Patriots, entertainer Nikki Lynch and Warrington’s own star-in-the-making Grace Chrougan.

Five
Five (stylised as 5ive) are an English boy band from London consisting of members Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, and Scott Robinson. They were formed in 1997 by the same team that managed the Spice Girls before they launched their career. The group were mostly known as a five-piece, consisting of Robinson, Neville, Conlon, Abz Love and Jason “J” Brown. Five enjoyed remarkable success worldwide, particularly in their native United Kingdom, as well as most of the rest of Europe, and Asia. The group have currently based on BPI certifications sold a minimum of 1.6 million copies of their albums and 2.4 million copies of their singles in the UK alone

Kevin Simm
Winner of BBC’s The Voice 2016 Kevin is no stranger to talent shows or the music industry he first found fame as part of Number One selling band ‘Liberty X’ who went on to have huge chart success with twenty consecutive Top 10 singles and is a BRIT award winner for Best Single 2003 with ‘Just A Little’. With those Top Ten hits under his belt and having reformed with Liberty X for part of ITV2’s ‘The Big Reunion’ Kevin has already had some amazing success.

Spice Girlz

The Patriots
Formed in late 2013, playing they played their first gigs in the early months of 2014, playing local pubs and clubs. In 2015 the band started to kick off with the release of ‘Town’, and after an overwhelming response we played gigs locally including a sold out St Helens crowd against Wigan in the local derby. 18,000 people watched the band play three tracks. They’ve also played Blackthorn music festival alongside The Enemy, The Tapestry and The Clone Roses, in what bound to be an amazing experience and a top weekend.

Grace
Grace is an 18 year old singer song writer from Warrington Graces influences are Florence and the Machine and Amy Winehouse, Grace is an acoustic singer and her vocal range is second to none, Grace is currently working on her Debut Single and EP with two Producers, song writers Adam from Melling records and Junior who is a singer songwriter also from Warrington, who currently hosts jam nights in Stockton Heath Mulberry Tree every Sunday, If you are a sucker for a great voice then Grace is the person to come and see, Grace would love your support.

Also on the lineup is Katy Barsby & Nikki Lynch.

The team at the Tetley Walker Club have brought on event management company, Live Events, to oversee WA2 Live.

Jamie Fildes, director of Live Events, said: “It’s a real coup to get big names like this for a new festival. The event is already creating a buzz around Orford and we can’t wait until June.”
