The next acts to play at Friars Court have been announced with Priestley, Pacific, Black Pulp and The JJohns playing at the venue on March 11th, as part of their monthly showcase.
You can read all about Priestley and the rest of the bands here on our previous news posting.
The last headliner for Friars Live was The Luka State from Winsford who played an energetic set for the raucous Saturday night crowd earlier this month. With support coming from Black Sonic Revolver, Weekend Wars and Dirty Berns, it was down to Conrad Ellis (Lead Vocals/Guitar), sharing more than a passing resemblance to a previous Friars Live star in Van McCann (Catfish and the Bottlemen), in energy and mannerisms to cap off a great night of music.
The band have self funded toured across the UK, Europe and America over the years and it shows in the tightness of the band and their craft.
Before ending the set with new single Lies! Lies! Lies!, the band asked the crowd to raise a glass to Friars who stand apart from other “Sharks in the music scene” and thanked the audience for continuing to support grass root venues. Indeed it is these small venues which are the lifeblood for future of live music, even if it means the headliners need to queue at the bar like everyone else!
The Luka State will return to Warrington on the 22nd July for a River Reeves Foundation Fundraiser.
