Today sees Warrington Guardian mark the 1 year anniversary of the deaths of Viola Beach, and their manager, Craig Tarry.
Coverage includes a 12 page pull out with content including interviews with the five families, Dave Monks (BBC Introducing), Hidden Charms and Georgia Parks (the photographer behind many of the iconic images of the band).
There will also be a piece from the Editor about the music scene in the aftermath, plus lots more including a look back on the Parr Hall Celebration.
Coldplay’s tribute to Viola Beach and manager Craig Tarry at Glastonbury during the band’s headline set has been named as music moment of the year at the NME Awards 2017. Read more about that here.
The support from the town and further afield has raised a staggering £30,000 towards a memorial fund to keep the bands legacy alive. Read more here.
The families of the band and manager Craig are set to meet in the coming weeks to discuss how the money raised through the memorial fund will be used to honour their legacy.
While there are a number of ideas on the table, the family would like to hear from the band’s fans about how they would like to see the five friends honoured.
