They have been entertaining crowds at The Lounge on Springfield Street for months, but on Saturday night, two talented singers from Warrington made it through to the next round of The Voice on ITV, wowing millions in the process.
For Stockton Heath resident Max Vickers, it was second time lucky after narrowly missing out on a place in the final stages of X Factor in 2011. With Gary Barlow previously deciding the former Priestley College student’s voice was ‘too different’ for X Factor, he found a fan in the Bush front man, Gavin Rossdale with his own unique take on the classic Paul Simon hit, Call me Al who turned his chair for him.

It was then up to flat mate, Mo Adeniran to join him, with the pick of four judges following his performance of Iron Sky, originally by Paolo Nutini, choosing to go with American Idol star, Jennifer Hudson.
Max and Mo… Totally different, but totally brilliant. Love em both… ❤️ #TheVoiceUK

It was less than a year ago that they were performing an acoustic set together at Eagle Sports Club at the memorial gig for their friend and fellow musician, Mike Carter, who sadly passed away aged just 19.
This year the gig For One Mike Only is at the Auction Rooms, Legh Street on April 28.
Mo Adeniran hosts this Thursday’s Open Mic night at The Lounge, 12th January.
