On Saturday 28th May, from 12pm-11pm, Golden Square presents a day to celebrate new and emerging talent in conjunction with the re-launched Warrington Music Festival. We are happy to announce Conquer Rio will head up a line-up of 22 up and coming bands and artists. The Festival stage will return to its regular home in the Old Market Square. With free entry once again, Warrington Music Festival will be the biggest celebration of new talent in Warrington this year.

A month-long celebration of style, fashion and music will culminate in two days of live music from emerging and upcoming bands who will perform on the same stage as iconic Indie bands, Reverend and the Makers and the Lightning Seeds at Warrington’s Old Market Place within the Golden Square Shopping Centre, on 28 and 29 May

Headliners Conquer Rio have already earned a reputation for their invigorating live shows and their anthemic sound. No stranger to the northern music scene they have performed at the Etihad’s Magic Weekend, the 2013 Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford and supported Scouting for Girls at the 2014 Warrington Music Festival.
They return to the festival to perform tracks from their debut EP, a record full of expressive melodies, dramatic hooks and catchy rhythms.

They are joined on the bill by folk-punk band, Roughneck Riot who have been making their mark on the underground punk scene for over a decade receiving high praise for their high-octane live performances. The band are regulars in Warrington, having recently staging their second yearly mini-festival at the Pyramid Centre in March.

Despite only forming in 2014, Liverpool band The Jackobins are festival veterans having performed at Tramlines, Strawberry Fields, Party in the Pines and Liverpool Calling amongst others. Their latest single ‘One More Chance’ was playlisted on BBC Introducing Merseyside, BBC Radio 6 and Radio X.
